A few words about us:

In 1949 as a part of the large industrial complex “Jugoturbina”, the company “Tvornica diesel motora” (Diesel Engine Factory) was established. We have been operating under the name of “Adriadiesel” since 1991.

Our factory has been producing engines under the “Sulzer (Switzerland) license” from 1955 until 1998, and has been producing engines under the “MAN (Germany) license” from 1998. Since the establishment of the company, during the 60 years of its existence, more than 1580 engines with more than 2,000 MW of power have been produced and delivered to more than 50 countries worldwide.

Adriadiesel d.d. is a OEM - original engine manufacturer factory for production of diesel engines and spare parts , as well as other power equipment, and it also provides services in overhauls , machining and heat treatment.

It was established in 1949 as YUGOTURBINA - Diesel Engine Factory, and despite changes in ownership and production program, Adriadiesel d.d. still follows the tradition of the former Yugoturbina Diesel Engine Factory.

ADRIADIESEL owns 46.000 m2 parcel of which 15.000 m2 is roofed space and halls (main production hall of dimensions 200 m x 50 m, and three halls of dimensions 65 m x 20 m, and three-winged administration building with accessory buildings).

The company is equipped with machinery for production of four-stroke diesel engines produced according to Licence Agreement with MAN Diesel SE, including the test bed.

Annual capacities are 220 000 hours; 100 000 hours in machining, 10 000 hours in heat treatment, 60 000 hours in locksmith-piping-welding works and 50 000 hours in assembly.

Adriadiesel d.d., the successor of former Diesel Engine Factory Yugoturbina, follows the tradition in production of diesel engines, spare parts and other power equipment, in co-operation with leading producers worldwide.

Since the incorporation in 1949 until today, in over 50 years, Adriadiesel d.d. has produced 1581 four-stroke diesel engines with over 2,000,000 HP by SULZER licence (later NEW SULZER DIESEL) of the following types.

  • Engines had been delivered in over 50 countries worldwide.
  • New engines by Sulzer licence are no longer produced in Adriadiesel d.d. since 1998, but we carry on with production of spare parts for all enlisted types of diesel engines, as well as with repairs and overhauls.
  • All the parts are ordered by the Code Book according to Code Number, which all the parts are marked with.
  • All spare parts are delivered with producer's certificates, and for certain parts we also give classification society certificates by customer's request.

Protection of employees in production is very important. All the workers are trained for protection against fire and occupational safety, and based on hazard estimation all protective measures are being taken and equipment supplied in order to provide safe working environment.

EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Quality of our products is guaranteed by our highly trained specialists: NDT examiners in penetrant testing, magnetic particle testing and visual inspection:

  • Welders certified by norm HRN EN 287-1;
  • Chief Welding Engineer certified by Croatian Welding Society according to EWF/IIW Program;
  • A crew trained for turbocharger overhauls and repairs;
  • Engineers qualified for drawing in AutoCad and PRO/E;

Adriadiesel d.d. has started a co-operation with Technical School in Karlovac with aim to promote careers and gaining new knowledge and skills in metal profession, electrotechnics, and mechatronics.

Adriadiesel d.d. will also facilitate practical teaching of students trough organised visits to its workshops.

Program of technical training for gaining new knowledge and skills for operating CNC machines and for maintenance of hydraulic and pneumatic systems and PLC devices has already begun.

The training is being implemented trough theoretical and practical lessons in Technical School in Karlovac. There are two programs provided.

IExecutive program for CNC operators consists of:

  • The Concept of Program and Programming;
  • Technology and Operational Documentation;
  • Machine Operating Practice;
  • Sample making by using one and three tools and thread cutting - turning cycle

Venue: Technology Process Projecting and NAUS Practicum.

IExecutive program of education in pneumatics, hydraulics and automatics consist of:

  • gas postulates, basic hydraulics postulates;
  • pneumatic elements, pneumatic control, electro-pneumatic control;
  • main parts of hydraulic system;
  • hydraulic control elements, hydraulic schemes and hydraulic control schemes;
  • PLC construction and functions;
  • logic algebra basics, and logic control schemes;
  • robotics basics;
  • robot operation programming;

KAIZEN

In March 2005 Mr. Yasuo Yamamoto and Mr. Zoran Stiperski presented KAIZEN - system of continuous improvements to all Adriadiesel's employees.

It was a successful introduction of an original Japanese KAIZEN management, revealing secrets of Japanese economical success.

The philosophy behind Kaizen management is quick, simple and easy, yet continuous improvements of work efficiency, resulting in huge success. There is no risk involved for the companies applying Kaizen method. It requires minor financial investments, but makes great changes in employees' job perception, work approach and general way of thinking.
