MAN Energy Solutions has won an order for four dual-fuel MAN B&W 6S60ME-GI engines for the construction of two 8,000-lane-meter hybrid Ro-Ro vessels for CLdN. Each vessel will also be equipped with 2 × 6 MW electric propulsion motors, enabling the vessel to maintain a service speed of 16-17 knots in all-electric mode. The newbuildings will further reduce carbon intensity by 40% while meeting NOx Tier III standards. Human energy solutions. The ME-GI (-Gas Injection) engine sets a new industry standard for two-stroke propulsion engines on ro-ro, PCTC, container ships, bulk carriers, tankers and LNG carriers.
ME-Gi engines deliver the industry's lowest CO2 and methane leak emissions for LNG-fueled ships. The diesel principle ensures 100% reliable operation during gas load changes with only the normal amount of pilot oil added.
