Monday, 19.08.2019 from NPP Smolensk in Russia, an engine manufactured in the factory Adriadiesel d.d., former Jugoturbina, 42 years ago was delivered for overhaul. The engine was delivered by Antonov 124-100, the second largest aircraft model from the fleet of Ukrainian Antonovs, after the giant Antonov 225, which visited Zagreb a few years ago to transport Končar's generator to the Philippines. After 42 years, the time has come to completely overhaul this 84-tonne engine. Adriadiesel d.d. has carried out the necessary inspections, replacement of worn parts and detailed and lengthy testing in record time, all in order to meet the stringent requirements for equipment installed in a nuclear power plant. After the overhaul, the engine met these strict requirements and was returned by the same plane, where in case of shutting down the reactor it will be used to drive a generator that supplies the nuclear power plant with energy needed to start, for example, pumps that cool the reactor.Since its inception, Adriadiesel has delivered a total of 80 such engines, mostly in the Eastern Bloc of Europe. Adriadiesel manufactures its own auxiliary engine under its own license and design. The name of this engine is "Adria 40". In addition to production, it also sells spare parts and service services on its own engines. Adria 40 meets all the necessary standards and so far has proven to be a product you can always rely on.
